Jeff Taylor Mediations, PSC
I am former Circuit Judge Jeff Taylor of the Fayette Circuit Court. Before being appointed Circuit Judge, I was a partner with Landrum & Shouse, LLP. For more than 20 years my practice focused entirely on civil litigation. I handled and tried all types of personal injury cases, including but not limited to, motor vehicle and bus accident cases, UM and UIM cases, slips-and-falls, school and workplace injury cases, commercial liability claims, and insurance contract claims.
I am honored to be an "AV Preeminent" rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell. I was also the Kentucky Defense Counsel Lawyer of the Year and recognized as a Top 50 SuperLawyer for several years before becoming a circuit judge. Additionally, I was recognized by Best Lawyers as "Lawyer of the Year" in Litigation-Insurance in 2021. I have been recognized by the KTCR as one of the most prolific trial attorneys in Kentucky for cases tried to jury since 2005. In addition to my many trials as a lawyer, I presided over murder and manslaughter trials as Fayette Circuit Court Judge where I also managed a heavy civil docket that included medical negligence cases, nursing home cases, construction cases, injury cases, and contract and estate cases.
At this stage of my professional and personal life, my practice is focused on mediation. As a trial attorney I participated in more than 500 mediations. I see as one of the most rewarding aspects of mediation is interacting with the participants, and actively listening to their issues and helping guide them to a solution. While I am neutral, I will not be passive. To me, it is important to point out to the participants issues they may not have considered or perhaps simply wish to ignore.
I believe it is critical to the parties to have a mediator that has been in the trial trenches. I have been there many times as a litigator and judge. I feel my experience as a trial attorney and a judge gives me the qualifications participants need and deserve to help work out an understanding acceptable to both parties.
